Computer Centre & AKMU

The Computer Centre was established in 1982 with the aim to provide scientific data processing facilities to scientists and research scholars of the Institute. Over the years, the Centre has expanded its activities in line with the rapid advancements in ICT field to face the new challenges. The Centre has by now successfully inculcated Computer culture in the Institute by organizing training programmes/Workshops. The activities of Computer Centre are being carried out through three units namely Data Processing Unit; Teaching & Training Unit and Computer maintenance Unit besides AKMU Cell and BTIS Sub Centre. The Centre is well equipped with a Multi-user Pentium/Unix Ware Computer, heavy duty Line Matrix Printer, P-IV system and software like MATLAB, SYSTAT, Compilers etc.

The Academic Knowledge Management Unit (AKMU) at ICAR–National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal, supports the Institute’s academic, research and knowledge-sharing activities. It facilitates the systematic management, dissemination and accessibility of academic and institutional information for students, faculty, scientists, researchers and other stakeholders. AKMU also promotes digital resources, efficient information management and coordination among academic and administrative units, contributing to a transparent and technology-enabled academic environment.

The major objective of AKMU is to ensure effective management, organization and dissemination of academic and institutional knowledge. The key objectives are:

  • To provide easy access to academic and institutional information.
  • To support digital management and dissemination of knowledge resources.
  • To facilitate communication and coordination among academic and research stakeholders.
  • To strengthen the Institute’s digital presence.
  • To ensure timely dissemination of academic events, notifications and achievements.
  • To promote the use of ICT in academic and research activities.
  • To support transparency, accessibility and preservation of digital resources.
  • To contribute to the digital transformation of the Institute.
